Marine Safety & Compliance Manager

Does working in the fast-paced world of chemical tankers and liquid logistics appeal to you? We are looking for a Marine Safety & Compliance Manager to join Stolt Tankers.

You will be responsible for managing the risk of our chemical tankers, providing safe, reliable, and high-quality global transportation services for bulk liquid chemicals, edible oils, acids, and clean petroleum products.

In this role, you will be a crucial part of the company's Safety, Security, Health, Environment, and Quality framework, leading efforts to enhance maritime safety and compliance across both our fleet and office operations.

What you will be doing
In this position, you will be entrusted with maintaining and enhancing the company's high standards of maritime safety and compliance. You will take the lead in managing the investigation processes for incidents, accidents, and Near Miss reporting, to create and improve a safe environment onboard our ships and offices.

You will provide support to Marine Safety Superintendents and the Senior Auditor, systematically addressing and communicating incidents, near misses, and overdue reports to management. Furthermore, you will coordinate and manage both internal and external audits. You will report to the Global Manager SSHEQ.

Key responsibilities

• Strategic management of incident and accident investigation processes.
• Ensuring timely, accurate, and actionable reporting.
• Supporting Marine Safety Superintendents and Senior Auditor.
• Coordination and quality management of internal and external audits.
• Development of annual audit schedules and conducting trend analysis.
• Overseeing hot work approvals and procedure development.
• Participation in risk management activities.

Qualifications

• Sailing experience as a Master for a minimum of 5 years and proven experience as a lead incident investigator in a Marine environment. 
• Experience in sailing on or working with Chemical Tankers. 
• Knowledge and experience in ISM, ISPS, MLC, and ISO50001 frameworks.
• Competency in planning, executing, and coordinating audit programs.
• Effective communication and presentation Skills. Good analytical and reporting skills.
• Broad knowledge of Shipping and Chemical Trade.
